Olympia Electronics | Aristotle University of Thessaloniki | Adaptive Escape Routing
We are thrilled to announce that Olympia Electronics and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki - GR, blend in together to create and re-evaluate the safety evacuation strategies in a fast moving world, where the safety is essential.
Olympia Electronics’ expertise in safety and innovative solutions as well as the artificial intelligence techniques and experience of Aristotle University, is an ideal combination of creating a new pioneering solution, the Adaptive Evacuation System called BEACON.
The adaptive system develops real-time evacuation routes and can pre-determine hazardous situations in location and time. These routes are continuously adjusted by combining optical and acoustic peripherals that go beyond static signaling, aiming to improve indoor crisis management.
Additionally, environmental information can be used as input variables for escaping routes. It’s actually evident that the conditions of smoke and gas are influenced by both meteorological conditions of the external atmosphere or unpredictable circumstances, as they can occur in the event of fire or terror attack.
Undeniably, the shortest route is not always the most secure. An optimal and continuously adjustable evacuation route as well as the surveillance of non-hazard accessibility, is essential. Such an adaptive evacuation system intents to save lives by attracting attention through the audiovisual signage, identifying hazardous situations, and redirecting the evacuation routes during an evolving emergency.
Olympia Electronics S.A. is excited of this collaboration with Aristotle University and can’t wait to establish new standards on safety evacuation systems!
